UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Lion Ambassadors will explore University legends and lore at its annual “Haunted Valley” event on Friday, Sept. 29.
Free and open to the public, Haunted Valley will take place from 7 to 10 p.m., starting at the Hintz Family Alumni Center and University House, with the final tour departing at 9:30 p.m. Those interested in signing up may register here — be advised that signing up for this event does not guarantee a tour time.
Lion Ambassadors will lead lantern tours around campus, with each tour beginning at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. Visitors can also walk through a haunted house in the historic University House, the oldest standing structure on the University Park campus, and home to 11 Penn State presidents.
"'Haunted Valley' introduces guests to the history of Penn State in a way that is entirely unique and engaging,” said Lion Ambassadors Committee Director Megan Lavelle. “The nighttime event is full of food, games, live entertainment, ghost tours, and even a haunted house! We are excited to welcome visitors to the Hintz Family Alumni Center for a night of spooky fall-themed fun.”
A student organization of the Penn State Alumni Association, Lion Ambassadors, founded in 1981, are the student alumni corps of the association. Its mission is to communicate the University’s history, personality and traditions to students, alumni and friends through tours and programming, and it serves as an important facet of student outreach for the Alumni Association.
