The Lion Ambassadors are Penn State’s Student Alumni Corps who aim to communicate the University’s history, personality and traditions to students, alumni and friends. As “ordinary students with extraordinary pride,” the organization’s main mission is to foster the idea that involvement with Penn State is a lifelong commitment, and achieve this by offering tours of campus, planning University-wide programming, organizing S-Zones for sports events, and more.

Every year, these recruitment events are held to engage the community in a conversation about who Lion Ambassadors are and what the organization does as a whole. As such, the information sessions hone in on explaining the Lion Ambassadors’ various connections with the Alumni Association, admissions, and the rest of Penn State’s campus.

Through activities, presentations (and free food!) students who attend these sessions will learn about the exact expectations of members as well as the purpose of the group, summarized by four pillars: service, tradition, excellence and pride. Items that will be emphasized include Lion Ambassadors’ touring experiences, community-wide event planning, S-Zone creation, and overall sense of community founded by mutual pride in the University.

In addition to these learning activities, the information sessions will be an opportunity for students to network with current Lion Ambassadors. These spaces are a way to encourage conversation and answer questions about the recruitment process.
