UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State Alumni Association is seeking alumni who are military veterans to become members of a Veterans Alumni Interest Group (VetsAIG). Leadership roles are available in various committees.
Alumni Interest Groups are affiliated groups led by volunteers with a specific interest or affinity. The Veterans Alumni Interest Group is designed to bring together Penn State’s military-connected alumni who share a bond through service and their alma mater. It would join the more than 30 Alumni Interest Groups where Penn Staters are already building community.
Organizers hope to unite Penn State veteran alumni through social and fundraising events, community service, and providing a space to connect with their peers.
The Alumni Association and alumni who are organizing the group encourage potential participants to complete a survey to share their background and interests.
All military veterans, active-duty service members, and currently serving reservists and National Guard members are encouraged to join. Those participating in the Alumni Interest Group must be a member of the Penn State Alumni Association.
For those interested in learning more, fill out the Veterans Alumni Interest Group survey online to share your information with group organizers.
Military Appreciation at Penn State
Penn State has a longstanding and proud tradition of serving the men and women of our military through education benefits, resources, support and more. This year, Penn State will highlight Medal of Honor recipients during a series of campus events, including the Military Appreciation football game on Nov. 8. Penn State students, faculty, staff and alumni with military connections can submit a profile of service for the opportunity to be featured on the University’s Military Appreciation website and other materials.
