THON alumni, parents of dancers to support this year's effort

University Park, Pa. -- The 10th annual Thon Alumni & Parents Weekend is all about reliving memories and making new memories while supporting this year's dancers trying to raise more than $4 million "For the Kids."

On Thon weekend, Feb. 17-19, more than 400 former Thon participants and parents of current dancers will flock to University Park to support this year's Thon participants and The Four Diamonds Fund as part of Thon Alumni & Parents Weekend, sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association.

During the weekend, parents and alumni will get to be on the Rec Hall floor with the dancers, participate in massage breaks, learn the line dance, get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Thon operation, enjoy a celebratory pizza party and more. Special programs for former Thon dancers from 1996 and 2001 are also planned, and the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group will hold an open meeting at noon Saturday at the Hintz Family Alumni Center.

Thon Alumni & Parents Weekend is open to all former Thon participants and parents of current dancers. Registrations will be taken through Monday, Feb. 13. The weekend full of events, as well as some meals, costs $35 for Alumni Association members and $50 for non-members.
