UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina member and Penn State alumnus Marcos Vives will present a cello masterclass at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, in 115 Music Building I. His visit to University Park is sponsored by the Penn State Cello Club. The masterclass is open to the public free of charge.
Marcos Vives serves as cello instructor at the Carlos Morel Conservatory in Quilmes, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is a member of the National Symphony of Argentina, Orquesta Estable del Teatro Colon, Camerata Bariloche, Orquesta Juan de Dios Filiberto, and Buenos Aires Philharmonic. He also serves as an instructor at the Beethoven Conservatory. Formerly, he serves as adjunct professor at Darton College. While working on his doctorate at Florida State University, he was a member of the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra.
Vives is an alumnus of Penn State and a former student of cello professor Kim Cook.
