University Park, Pa. – As summer winds down and gardening’s off-season approaches, watering, weeding and harvesting move to the top of the gardening to-do list, presenting new challenges unique to August.
The next installment of WPSU-TV’s "Conversations LIVE" tackles this topic in "Get Your Garden On!" Host Patty Satalia is joined by Tom Butzler, Steve Bogash and John Esslinger, all horticulture educators with Penn State’s Cooperative Extension. Butzler, Bogash and Esslinger will provide tips on how to round out this season and prepare for next year’s garden.

Butzler is a horticulture extension educator with the majority of his responsibilities in vegetable production. He also developed Penn State Extension’s first online beekeeping course, Beekeeping 101.
Esslinger is also a horticulture educator, working with Penn State Extension in northeastern Pennsylvania since 1995. He focuses on the topics of fruit, vegetable and greenhouse production.
Bogash has expertise in a wide range of plants including cut flowers, tomatoes, garlic, shallots, fruits and container-grown vegetables. He is a regional horticulture educator serving the Southeast region of Pennsylvania.
