ALTOONA, Pa. — As part of the Penn State Altoona Distinguished Speaker Series, Darrell Hammond will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Gym A of the Adler Athletic Complex. Free tickets are available starting Oct. 21 at the Penn State Altoona Bookstore and the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts box office. This program is not recommended for those under the age of 15.

Hammond will present “Mental Illness is NOT an Airborne Virus ... The Darrell Hammond Story,” which will include a Q&A session and book signing.

Hammond is an actor, stand-up comedian, and impressionist. He was a regular member of "Saturday Night Live" (SNL) from 1995 to 2009, the longest tenure of any cast member in the show's history.

In addition to his SNL appearances, Hammond has been in a number of feature films and television shows including "Law and Order: SVU," "Damages," and "The Devil and Daniel Webster." He is frequently featured on "Funny or Die" and actively appears as a stand-up comedian and speaker.

In 2011, Hammond published his best-selling, both-dark-and-comic memoir, "God, If You're Not Up There, I'm F***ed." The book details his difficult childhood and the intersection of success and struggle behind the scenes of SNL and his life.
