UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Honors Music Institute begins its exciting week of musical experiences on Sunday, July 17, at University Park. The institute is an immersion in the art of music making designed for highly talented high school students, accepted by audition.
Classes, concerts and rehearsals occur throughout the week, culminating in three concerts on Saturday, July 23. This year, the student pianists will be taught by Penn State faculty member Christopher Guzman. The Chamber Choir will be conducted by Penn State Director of Choral Activities Christopher Kiver. Penn State's Director of Concert Bands Dennis Glocke will conduct the institute's Wind Ensemble.
The week of the Honors Music Institute includes six performances, all free and open to the public. All concerts and recitals will occur in the School of Music's Esber Recital Hall.

- Thursday, July 21, 8 p.m.: Student Honors Recital
- Friday, July 22, 8 p.m.: Student Chamber Music Recital
- Saturday, July 23, 9:30 a.m.: Piano Recital
- Saturday, July 23, 11 a.m.: Chamber Choir concert
- Saturday, July 23, 2 p.m.: Wind Ensemble concert
