UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Palmer Museum of Art will present its summer 2016 Art After Hours event from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, on the Palmer Museum of Art Plaza on Penn State's University Park campus. Pack a picnic dinner, bring a lawn chair or blanket, and invite your friends and family to enjoy a live performance by Hops & Vines.

Hops & Vines, an acoustic rock duo, plays a little bit of everything. The band's mission is to perform songs people love, but don't hear all of the time. Hops (Jonathan McVerry) rocks a fun jangly guitar and Vines (Christie Clancy) brings some of the best, most powerful vocals in Happy Valley. They like to get people singing along and dancing as much as possible!

Complimentary ice cream from the Berkey Creamery will be served. In the event of rain, the performance will be held in the Palmer Lipcon Auditorium, and seating may be limited. Free parking is available in the adjacent lots. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Palmer Museum of Art.

The museum galleries will be open. Exhibitions on view this summer are “American Art in the Shadow of World War I” from May 17 to Aug. 7, “The Prints of Jules Heller” from June 7 through Aug. 14, and “Still Moving: Photographs by Steve McCurry” from June 14 through Sept. 18.

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is located on Curtin Road and admission is free. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays.
