UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Last November, a capacity crowd spent an evening immersed in salsa dancing at the State College Municipal Building. The free event was so popular that another two-hour Salsa Social! will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, in the same location.

The Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State, in partnership with Penn State Ballroom Dance Club and Borough of State College, invites the community to learn how to move to recorded salsa music in Room 201 of the building at 243 S. Allen St.

“We are so excited to hold the second Salsa Social! in downtown State College,” said Medora Ebersole, Center for the Performing Arts education and community programs manager. “The Penn State Ballroom Dance Club students are brilliant at engaging all learners and contributing to social awareness in our neighborhood.”

No dance experience, dance partner or reservation is required for the all-ages social. For more information about the event, contact Ebersole at 814-863-6752 or mde13@psu.edu.

This presentation is associated with the Center for the Performing Arts Diversity and Inclusion Collaborative. The University’s Equal Opportunity Planning Committee provides lead funding. Sandra Zaremba and Richard Brown provide support.
