UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Centre Stage Broadway alumni will return home for "One Night on Broadway," Monday, May 13, at the Penn State Downtown Theatre. The evening will include wine, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and a performance.
Directed by Penn State alumnus Robert W. Schneider, Penn State master of fine arts class of 2009, the show will feature current Broadway and Penn State musical theater alumni. Sharing the stage will be Faren Collins ("Tron Light Cycle Run"), Andrew Leggieri ("Bandstand"), Talia Suskauer ("Wicked"), Richard Spitaletta ("Something Rotten"), Alex Dorf ("The Pirates of Penzance") and Allie Pizzo ("Aladdin").
The show will include Broadway alumni recreating a song they sang while at Penn State, sharing memories about their time at University Park, singing a song from one of the current Broadway shows they are working on, and taking us behind the curtain to hear about the magic of "The Great White Way."
"Penn State is one of the top musical theater programs in the country. You would be hard pressed to find a show on Broadway that doesn’t have a Nittany Lion gracing its stages," said Schneider. "And, no matter how far we go, from Broadway to Hollywood, we will always call Penn State our home!"
VIP reserved seats at 5 p.m. are $250; and general admission at 6 p.m. are $125. Call 814-863-0255 or click here for tickets.
The Penn State Downtown Theatre is located at 146 S. Allen Street, State College. Free parking vouchers are available for downtown parking garages.
The event supports Centre Stage and the School of Theatre and is sponsored by the State College Downtown Improvement District, Penn State Days Inn by Wyndham, Happy Valley Adventure Bureau, and Paul's Provisions.
