One-woman show ‘Junior’ to debut March 23

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Elizabeth J. Stewart, a third-year master of fine arts in acting candidate in the Penn State School of Theatre, has written a dramatic one-woman show, “Junior,” about a mother's journey to a new normal after her teenage son was murdered by an off-duty police officer.

The issue of wrongful deaths has sparked political controversies, activist movements, and provided consumers of social media a platform to express their personal opinions. The voice that Stewart will convey in her solo production is that of the childless mother.

“Junior” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. on March 23-24 and 5:30 p.m. on March 25 in Room 6 of the Theatre Building at University Park. Admission to the show is free.
