Palmer Museum of Art announces 'The Art of Poetry' fall readings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Palmer Museum of Art invites museumgoers to surround themselves in visual and verbal imagery at the museum while poets and storytellers from the Penn State community read their latest work in a feast for the eyes and ears in "The Art of Poetry" fall series. 

Steven Sherrill, associate professor of English and integrative arts at Penn State Altoona, and author of "Joy, PA: A Novel," will present at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Camille-Yvette Welsch, senior lecturer in English, book reviews editor for Literary Mama, and author of the chapbook "Sleep," will present at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4.

Nicole Miyashiro, copywriter and editor for the Pennsylvania Center for the Book at Penn State University Libraries, and a Pushcart Prize-nominated author/poet, will present at 12:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

The Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State is located on Curtin Road and admission is free. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays.
