UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Theatre (formerly Penn State Centre Stage) will present "Hot ‘n’ Cole: A Cole Porter Celebration!" with words and music by Cole Porter; devised by David Armstrong, Mark Waldrop and Bruce W. Coyle; musical arrangements by Bruce W. Coyle; and directed by John Simpkins, Wednesday, May 10, and Thursday, May 11, in the Penn State Downtown Theatre Center, 146 S. Allen Street, State College, Pennsylvania.
This bubbly, two-act revue of Cole Porter’s gorgeous songs is melodic, witty, and sophisticated. The timeless material has been given fresh arrangements and a contemporary and modern feel. Featuring such delectable songs as "Night and Day," "At Long Last Love," "In the Still of the Night," "It’s Too Darn Hot," "What a Swell Party This Is" and "Just One of Those Things" — the list of classics goes on and on in a touching and unforgettable evening.
The cast is comprised of bachelor of fine arts musical theater standouts Joseph Allen, Laura Guley, Julia Hemp, Johnathan Teeling, Daniel Teixeira and Maria Wirries, along with dual pianists Loclan McKenzie-Spencer and Chris Rayis.
