UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Press has announced the Spring 2021 lineup for “PSU Press Presents,” a monthly series of free virtual events that feature authors of new and recent books in conversation with each other. Topics reflect the wide range of subjects published by the Press, including art history, rhetoric, religion, medieval studies, and many more.
The series launched in 2020 as a way for authors, editors, and readers to connect after most in-person author events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first event for Spring 2021 is “Women and Art Practice, 1600–1980,” which will take place at 4 p.m. this Friday, Jan. 29. The February event will feature the authors of four new books in the Press’ "Africana Religions" series, and March will bring a discussion between the authors of new books in Assyriology published by Eisenbrauns, an imprint of Penn State University Press since 2017. Other events in the lineup include the authors of books in the Press’ "Magic in History" series and "Humor in America" series, as well as books in graphic studies.
Attendance for all PSU Press Presents events is free, but advance registration is required. Events will take place on Zoom and are concurrently broadcast live to the Press’ Facebook page.
