ALTOONA, Pa. — Poet and prose writer Jesse Waters will read from his work at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at Penn State Altoona.

Waters’ writings have been published in The Adirondack Review, Coal Hill Review, The Cortland Review, Iowa Review, Plainsongs, River Styx, Story Quarterly, Southeast Review, and elsewhere. His first book of poems, "Human Resources," was released by Inkbrush Press in February 2011. He teaches at Elizabethtown College, where he is director of the Bowers Writers House.

Writer Julianna Baggott says Waters “keeps a close eye fixed on the personal while his poems wrestle history, faith, the darkness and absurdity of the human condition.”

Sponsored by the English program and the Division of Arts and Humanities, the reading is free and open to the public.
