Arts Project ONLINE is a web event series featuring visual artists as they discuss their recent exhibit at Penn State Lehigh Valley. Each exhibit will be explored through the mind of the artist and through the lens of Google Expedition. Through these live conversations, the audience will share in the artistic process with a virtual, immersive tour of the exhibit. A great opportunity for anyone who is looking for ways to bring their work to life while being physically distant.

All Arts Project ONLINE events will be hosted via Zoom. All are free and open to the public.

Featured exhibition is “Spotted Lanternfly: Zones of Syncopation” by Artist Elsabé Dixon is a current community public art project that started in 2019 and is still on display at Penn State Lehigh Valley until December 2020.

Panelists:

Elsabé Dixon, active contemporary artist and arts administrator. Her work and research focus on the exploration and development of new social and eco fields using live organisms and natural systems within a post contemporary context.  She currently is the executive director of the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History.

Tamryn McDermott, campus arts associate at Campus Arts Initiative, Penn State.

Elise Schaffer, Arts & Access Always program administrator for the Lehigh Valley Arts Council. She received a bachelor of arts in arts administration from Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Moderated by Liz Flaherty, associate teaching professor, arts administration; program coordinator, Arts Administration and the Honors Programs.

“A #MeToo Project: Amy Arbus and Martha Posner” was exhibited in the Ronald K. De Long Gallery at Penn State Lehigh Valley Oct. – Dec. 2019

Panelists:

Amy Arbus, a New York City-based photographer who is the author of five books, most notably "On the Street 1980-1990," a selection of style portraits made for The Village Voice. She is represented by Schoolhouse Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts, and her work is in many museum collections around the world, including The New York Public Library, The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The National Theatre of Oslo.

Martha Posner, painter and sculptor living on a farm in Martins Creek, Pennsylvania, and takes much of her inspiration from the 250 acres of surrounding forest. She is represented by Accola Griefen in New York City and has exhibited extensively in the United States as well Buenos Aries, Argentina, Milan, Italy, and Paris, France. Her work is included in many collections, including the Butler Museum of Art, Youngstown Ohio, College of Charleston, Charleston South Carolina, the George Fund Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, and the Allentown Art Museum, Allentown Pennsylvania.
