UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Department of English is helping to bring the American Shakespeare Center On Tour to State College. The troupe will present a free performance of William Shakespeare's "The Life of King Henry the Fifth" to the general public at the State Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Live music will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the show will start at 7 p.m.
The American Shakespeare Center On Tour is the international touring arm of the American Shakespeare Center (ASC). Direct from the stage of the ASC's celebrated Blackfriars Playhouse, the world's only re-creation of Shakespeare's indoor theatre, the American Shakespeare Center On Tour boasts more than two decades worth of global touring experience. This elite troupe stands as one of America’s foremost providers of quality entertainment to performing and fine arts centers on both sides of the Atlantic. The ASC's visit to Penn State is also sponsored by the State High Thespians and Learning Enrichment/ARTsmART. Donations to offset the cost will be welcomed at the door.
