UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Stuckeman School has launched its first-ever virtual student awards gallery to celebrate the award-winning work the school’s students have produced over the past academic year.

The annual Stuckeman School Student Awards Gallery features designs from the school’s architecture, landscape architecture and graphic design students at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The exhibit is traditionally displayed in the Rouse Gallery and on the walls in the first floor of the Stuckeman Family Building on the University Park campus from June through September. The 2020-21 virtual exhibit provides Stuckeman students with a worldwide platform and allows viewers around the globe to access the gallery from their personal electronic devices.

When Penn State went to online operations in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several events in the school’s annual Lecture and Exhibit Series were postponed, including the final celebratory exhibit of student work that was to be installed in the Rouse Gallery.

“Installations and talks by guests can easily be rescheduled or held remotely; however, we knew we still wanted to find a way to recognize the hard work and long hours our students put in and honor the thoughtful, innovative designs that earned them accolades over the past year,” said Patricia Kucker, director of the Stuckeman School. “So, we pivoted to a virtual exhibit format and I’m so pleased that the amazing work of our students will find its way to an even larger audience than could ever visit our gallery space.”

The virtual Stuckeman School Student Awards Gallery will now be an annual online exhibition and will also return to the Stuckeman Family Building in the form of a physical exhibit installation when it is safe to do so.

The exhibit can be viewed via sites.psu.edu/sssag.
