UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The 2021-22 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition, featuring artwork by Penn State School of Visual Arts students, is on view through Feb. 11 in the Edwin W. Zoller Gallery in the Visual Arts Building.

A virtual reception and awards announcement will be held on Friday, Feb. 11, at noon. The event is open to the public but registration is required here (those who register will receive a confirmation email and Zoom link after registering).

Thanks to support from the John M. Anderson Endowed Lecture Series, SoVA is able to invite nationally and internationally recognized artists, critics and curators to serve as jurors for the Undergraduate Juried Exhibition, where students compete for the Kara D. Berggren Scholarship Award, as well as several merit awards. This year’s juror is Shannon Egan, director of the Schmucker Art Gallery at Gettysburg College, where she curates exhibitions of contemporary and historical art and teaches courses in art history. Egan, who received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her master of arts and doctoral degrees in the history of art from Johns Hopkins University, is the co-founder, with artist Anthony Cervino, of Ejecta Projects, an art gallery and artist’s space in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Undergraduates selected for this year’s exhibition include Madelyn Ade, Darya Alvarez, Isabella Araujo, Ko Balogun, Avery Belser, Sierra Brandon, Marianne Chico, Blake Evans, Xuran Guo, Summer Han, Lindsey Hauser, Emma Kappel, Jane Liechty, Sammi Lilley, Andrea Linn, Kylie Mckenna, Greta Miller, Ebunoluwa Odusanya, Victoria Oishi, Samantha Peacock, Liu Shaobo, Ziwei Sun, Allison Walter and Abigail Williamson.
