Viola and piano recital to feature two faculty members

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State faculty members Timothy Deighton and Christopher Guzman will collaborate to present a viola and piano recital at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, in 128 Music Building II. The program includes music by baroque giant Johann Sebastian Bach, Romantic era composer Frédéric Chopin, and 20th century master Paul Hindemith. Admission is free.

Timothy Deighton is professor of viola at Penn State, where he teaches viola, chamber music, viola literature and pedagogy, and orchestral excerpts classes, and directs the Penn State Viola Ensemble. He also serves as the coordinator of the Professional Performance Certificate (PPC) program and is the faculty adviser of the Penn State Viola Society.

Christopher Guzman is associate professor of piano at Penn State and regularly performs for audiences throughout North America, Europe and Asia, as soloist and chamber musician.
