Young People’s Chorus of Erie to hold open rehearsals

The Young People’s Chorus of Erie, a youth outreach program of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will hold open rehearsals later this month for its 2015-16 season.

Open rehearsals give young people between the ages of 7–18 the opportunity to attend a rehearsal, meet the staff and learn about YPC Erie. The chorus is northwest Pennsylvania’s only comprehensive youth choral music program and children from 37 different schools participate.

The rehearsals will be held at Penn State Behrend and First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant between Wednesday, Aug. 26, and Thursday, Sept. 3. Open rehearsals at Penn State Behrend are for ages 13-18 while rehearsals at First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant are for ages 7-12.

The open rehearsal schedule is listed below:

  • Aug. 26, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Smith Chapel, Penn State Behrend (ages 13-18)
  • Aug. 27, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W. Seventh St. (ages 7-12)
  • Aug. 31, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., Smith Chapel, Penn State Behrend (ages 13-18)
  • Sept. 3, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 250 W. Seventh St. (ages 7-12)
