UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State All-Sports Museum will host Elizabeth “Betz” Hanley at noon on Wednesday, May 4, in the gymnastics exhibit for its fifth gallery talk of 2016.

Hanley coached the Penn State gymnastics team from 1968 to 1972. From 1978 to 1998 she founded and directed the Penn State International Dance Ensemble. She is now a retired associate professor emerita of kinesiology.

Hanley will share what it was like coaching in the early days of women’s gymnastics at Penn State when coaches recruited from their classes, her experiences coaching alongside the great Gene Wettstone, and her move to dance from gymnastics. The event is free and open to the community.

The Penn State All-Sports Museum is hosting monthly gallery talks with a wide variety of coaches, alumni and scholars throughout 2016. The gallery talks are casual, and no registration is required. Spend your lunch break getting a more intimate look at Penn State’s athletic history.The museum is located at the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium, opposite the Bryce Jordan Center. A long canopy leading from Curtain Road marks the museum entrance. There is a metered parking lot across from the museum.
