A Penn State alumnus who has crafted a strong career in sports media will be featured during a free public session addressing “Cultural Narratives in Sports Media” at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, in 162 Willard Building on the University Park campus.

The campus visit by Reginald Walker, a producer for ESPN who earned his telecommunications degree from Penn State in 2004, is part of African-American Heritage Month Activities sponsored by the College of Communications Office of Multicultural Affairs.

Walker, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, at ESPU, serves as lead producer for “Film Room” and as a highlight producer. He also mentors studio production assistants. In previous roles with ESPN at its Connecticut headquarters, Walker worked with award-winning programs such as “NFL Primetime” and “College GameDay,” among others. 

As an undergraduate, Walker was a member of the Penn State football team and completed multiple internships, including an experience with MSNBC’s “Alan Keyes Show” and with Dame Broadcasting in State College. He later worked as a radio analyst, covering high school football for Dame Broadcasting. He was also a member of the University Park Allocation Committee.
