UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- After winning the 2016 Big Ten Tournament in College Park, Maryland, the Penn State field hockey team will turn its attention to Princeton in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 12.
The Nittany LIons defeated the University of Maryland 2-1 on Nov. 6, capturing a conference record seventh Big Ten championship title and their most recent since winning the tournament in back-to-back seasons in 2011 and 2012.
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll ranked Penn State No. 4 on Tuesday, moving up a spot from the previous poll.
Penn State will face the Princeton Tigers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament at University Park.
