UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — It's time to Rally in the Valley!Join the Blue & White Society to send the Penn State men’s basketball and hockey teams to New York City, where they will take on the Michigan Wolverines in the B1G Hoops and Hockey Doubleheader on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Madison Square Garden.

Rally in the Valley will begin at noon on Friday, Jan. 29, at the new HUB staircase. In addition to a send-off for the athletes, there will be free food, limited edition Rally in the Valley T-shirts, and other giveaways for the crowd. The event will feature a variety of special guests, including the coaches and players from the Penn State men’s basketball and hockey teams, the Nittany Lion, the Lionettes, and cheerleaders.

“We are extremely excited for this special edition of Rally in the Valley. This year, we have the amazing opportunity to highlight not just one, but two different sports teams here at Penn State,” said Adam Jarvis, Blue & White Society vice president of programming.

The event is free and open to the public. This year, Rally in the Valley evolved to support the Penn State teams participating in the Hoops and Hockey Doubleheader event. In the past, the event was held during football season.

“The Blue & White Society is all about engaging the entire student body, and that is exactly what we plan to do with Rally in the Valley 2016,” said Heather Wong, Blue & White Society president. “The send-off to Madison Square Garden is going to be an event that you won’t want to miss!”

The Blue & White Society is the student membership of the Penn State Alumni Association, with societies at campuses across the Commonwealth. With nearly 9,000 members, it is the largest and one of the most active student organizations at Penn State.
