Brandywine’s Beef 'n’ Beverage raises thousands for student-athletes

Penn State Brandywine held its annual “A Night With the Pride” fundraising event Feb. 28, bringing in nearly $8,000 to support Brandywine’s athletic programs.

The Beef 'n’ Beverage, which was held at the Ballrooms at Boothwyn, brought together nearly 200 campus and community members for a fun-filled evening. The event featured a dinner, entertainment and a drawing for more than 40 baskets filled with everything from gift certificates, fine wine, theater tickets and much more. Three guests won Philadelphia Flyers hockey tickets, a professional painting service and a weekend shore rental in Avalon, N.J. Campus and local community members, as well as local businesses provided all baskets for the drawing.

“This event wouldn’t be a success without the help from everyone here at Penn State Brandywine,” said committee member Theresa Walls. “I would like to personally thank everyone who donated in some way to this event.”

All proceeds benefit the campus’ Athletic Advancement Fund, directly supporting Penn State Brandywine’s student athletes.

"It is a great way to bring staff, faculty and friends of athletics together for a night of celebration,” said Brandywine Athletic Director Jim Gastner. “The funds raised at this event help get our athletes the additional tools they need to improve their skills to the next level."
