University Park, Pa.- Penn State women’s golfer junior Cara Basso (Downingtown, Pa.) has been selected to compete in the 2018 NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Regionals, as announced by the NCAA women’s golf committee this evening.
Basso marks the first Nittany Lion to advance onto the regionals since 2014 when then senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) and junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) participated in the NCAA East Regional in Tallahassee, Florida.
“We are extremely proud of Cara and all she has accomplished,” stated Head Coach Denise St. Pierre, “She had a great last event at the Big Ten Championship and has had an overall great year.”
Basso is set to compete in the Madison Regional, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Madison, May 7-9 at the University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wisconsin. Basso is one of 24 individuals selected to compete across the four regionals.
