Sacramento, Calif. -- Penn State senior Jaret Campisi (Enola, Pa.) posted a time of 50.97 to advance to the semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles on the second day of the NCAA Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
Campisi, the Big Ten champion in the event, posted the 13th best qualifying time to advance to the event semifinals on Friday. Campisi was just two tenths off of a top eight time that would put him position to advance to Saturday's finals and earn All-America honors.
Also competing for Penn State was senior Bret Kershner (Bernville, Pa.). The Big Ten javelin champion posted a throw of 194-0 to finish 18th in the event.
Competition continues through Saturday at Sacramento State University.
