Carr selected to AP All-Big Ten team

NEW YORK – Penn State sophomore guard Tony Carr was named to the Associated Press Men’s Basketball All-Big Ten first team on Wednesday. The Philadelphia native leads the conference in scoring at 19.9 points per game and in the Big Ten regular-season finale became the first Penn State men’s basketball sophomore to reach the 1,000 career point milestone.

Now in its third year, the AP All-Big Ten teams are voted upon by a panel of 12 journalists who cover the programs. This is the first AP All-Big Ten first accolade for Carr, who was named to the All-Big Ten first team by both the leagues' coaches and media on Feb. 26.

Carr scored in double figures in all but two games this season and led the Nittany Lions in the points column 16 times in 2017-18. He has also accounted for additional Penn State offensive production with 138 assists.
