Former Penn State Greater Allegheny women’s basketball player Taylor Fulton has joined the campus’ women's basketball staff as head coach for 2015. She earned her bachelors of science psychology from Penn State in May 2013. Fulton was a first-year assistant coach for the Greater Allegheny Lions 2014-15 season.
Throughout her career in a Penn State uniform, Taylor was distinguished with Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) Player of the Year in 2013, PSUAC First-Team All-American and USCAA First-Team All-American in 2013 and 2014, and six-time PSUAC Player of the Week as well as a three-time USCAA Player of the Week through 2013-14.
Fulton is currently pursuing a master’s of science in sport management with a focus on intercollegiate athletic administrations at California University of Pennsylvania.
“It is a blessing to have this unique opportunity to coach the very same team I played for just a few seasons ago! Greater Allegheny is home for me. I was able to excel here as a student-athlete and I am excited about the opportunity to excel here as a head coach,” said Fulton. “A great foundation has been laid and I am excited to take the program to new heights. I am looking forward to a competitive year for our program, as we have an ambitious group of young ladies returning along with a few solid additions.”
While assisting at Greater Allegheny and pursuing her master's, Fulton started The Triple Threat Institute in May 2014. The Triple Threat Institute is a youth basketball training company whose mission is to utilize basketball to help transition girls and boys into successful young women and men by encouraging academic and social achievement while enhancing their basketball skills.
