Joe Battista to give All-Sports Museum's final gallery talk of 2016 on Dec. 2

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Joe Battista, former head coach of Penn State’s club ice hockey team, will present the Penn State All-Sports Museum’s final gallery talk of 2016 from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2, in the hockey gallery.

Battista captained the club team as an undergraduate and went on to coach the team for 19 years, winning six American Collegiate Hockey Association national titles, playing in 10 straight national championship games, winning more than 500 games as head coach, and obtaining ACHA Division I Coach of the Year honors in 1999-2000 and 2001-2002. Battista, a longtime Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics employee, is best known for facilitating the largest financial gift in the University's history: $88 million from Terry and Kim Pegula. Battista currently works as a speaker, author, and consultant for his business, PRAGMATIC Passion, LLC.

Battista earned a degree in marketing from the Penn State Smeal College of Business in 1983.

The event will be held in the hockey exhibit with some limited seating availability for those unable to stand for extended periods of time. The event will be streamed live on twitter @PSUSportsMuseum for those unable to attend in person. This event is free and open to the community.
