Men's basketball earns bid to 2023 NCAA Tournament

No. 10-seed Nittany Lions to face No. 7-seed Texas A&M

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — On the heels of a magical run through the Big Ten men's basketball tournament, Penn State received its first NCAA Tournament bid since 2011. The No. 10-seeded Nittany Lions will face No. 7-seeded Texas A&M on March 16 at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, in the Midwest Region.

Game time for Penn State-Texas A&M is set for 9:55 p.m. EST, airing on TBS. Penn State's overall seed for the tournament is No. 38.

At the Big Ten tournament in Chicago, Penn State advanced to the championship game to face top-seed Purdue on March 12. Despite a valiant comeback effort by Penn State, the Boilermakers outlasted the Nittany Lions, 67-65.

Entering the NCAA Tournament, Penn State has won five of its last six games, and eight of its last 10 since Feb. 14. The Nittany Lions hold an overall record of 22-13.

Penn State last appeared in the NCAA Tournament in 2011, losing to Temple in the opening round, 66-64.
