UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State men’s hockey season ticket fan base is ready for next season. Ninety-five percent of current season ticket holders renewed for the upcoming 2016-17 season in Hockey Valley, while the remaining tickets were snatched up by existing season ticket holders and those at the top of the waiting list.
“Ninety-five percent renewal rate is phenomenal,” head coach Guy Gadowsky said. “We are looking forward to our streak of 31 straight sellouts to continue. The atmosphere that’s created here is the best in college hockey.”
With the season ticket renewal and seat selection process concluded, a limited number of single-game tickets will go on sale Aug. 4-8 for Nittany Lion Club members and hockey season-ticket holders. If tickets remain, tickets will go on sale Aug. 9 to the public. Additional information regarding single-game sales will be released later this summer.
The Penn State student ticket sale will take place in September with details to be released at a later date.
The Nittany Lions played in front of literally the most packed house in NCAA Division I men’s hockey for a second-straight year in 2015-16. The Blue & White faithful brought Pegula Ice Arena’s average attendance to 105.4 percent of capacity as the Nittany Lions skated to a 12-5-1 mark to bolster the program’s first 20-win season.
Penn State averaged 6,093 fans per game in its 5,782-seat arena. Penn State fans sold out Pegula Ice Arena all 18 times as the $90 million arena brought its total sellouts number to 51 in 54 total contests. The Nittany Lions have now skated in front of 31 straight sellout crowds in the regular season.
