'Penn State Football 2013 – The Next Chapter' debuts Aug. 29

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Athletics and Penn State Public Media are continuing their partnership this fall to produce "Penn State Football 2013 - The Next Chapter" Presented by Pepsi, a weekly preview show that will chronicle the Nittany Lions' upcoming season.

This season, the 30-minute program will be a preview show, with the first episode debuting on Thursday, Aug. 29, in some markets. The program will provide a fast-paced, intimate look inside the Nittany Lion football program. It will include a look at game week preparation, film breakdown with head coach Bill O'Brien, an all-access look at the coaching staff and visits with selected players on and off the field throughout the season.

The coverage also may include a review of the previous week’s game with highlights, sideline and locker room coverage. An enhanced game highlight package from each week’s game can be found on the Penn State All-Access Channel on www.GoPSUsports.com for free every Sunday following a game.

The 2013 preview format of the show also changes the primary broadcast days, moving to a Thursday, Friday and Saturday broadcast schedule.

Penn State Public Media will produce "Penn State Football - The Next Chapter" and it will be televised on WPSU-TV, across the commonwealth and in numerous markets in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast (see schedule below).

WPSU-TV also produces the Emmy Award-winning "Courtside With Coquese," chronicling the two-time defending Big Ten Champion Lady Lion Basketball team, in partnership with Penn State Athletics.

Penn State returns 16 starters and 37 letterwinners for the 2013 campaign. The Nittany Lions will host three teams that finished in the 2012 BCS Top 25: Michigan (Oct. 12-Homecoming), Nebraska (Nov. 23) and Kent State. Purdue, Illinois, UCF and Eastern Michigan also will visit Beaver Stadium this year. The Nittany Lions open the season Aug. 31 vs. Syracuse at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.Penn State football season and single game tickets are available.
