UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics has announced public 2019 season football tickets will increase by a total of $14 ($2 per game). Nittany Lion Club required payment levels will remain the same for next season, which will feature seven games in Beaver Stadium.
Football season ticket renewals for the 2019 season will be available in early December by visiting www.GoPSUsports.com/accountmanager to view and pay football season ticket renewals and Nittany Lion Club payments. Season ticket holders will be notified when 2019 renewals are available. The season ticket renewal deadline is Feb. 1, 2019.
During the 2019 season, the Nittany Lions will host Pittsburgh for the 100th series meeting, four Big Ten Conference foes — Indiana, Michigan, Purdue and Rutgers — in addition to Buffalo and Idaho.
The $14 season ticket increase ($2 per game) is for all general public seats in Beaver Stadium, including the main seating bowl, the Mount Nittany Club and suites. The price of a public season ticket in the seating bowl will rise from $420 to $434 for the 2019 season.
The price of season car and overnight RV parking permits will remain the same for 2019.
“We are grateful for the outstanding support from Penn State alumni, students and fans for Nittany Lion football,” said Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour. “The investment of resources, time and passion our season ticket holders make in our program and the electric atmosphere they create in Beaver Stadium are unrivaled. The decisions we make come with careful deliberation about the potential impact on our loyal fans and community, improving the overall fan experience, and the conditions for success we create for our student-athletes.”
Improved pedestrian, driver safety and traffic flow, easing congestion prompt changes for 2019
In an effort to address traffic and parking challenges on game day, Penn State Athletics and the University have evaluated the operation with an outside consultant and will implement changes for traffic and parking for the 2019 football season.
The most significant changes will include the creation of four traffic zones and designating game day parking for general parking lots. Fans are advised that the names or numbers of some parking lots will change for the 2019 season. Penn State will continue to offer three tiers of parking: Reserved, Preferred and General.
Starting with the 2019 season, fans will be required to enter the game day traffic pattern, and travel to their specific Beaver Stadium lot from one of four traffic zones that have been created (North, South, East and West). All parking permits will have zone and lot specific driving direction instructions.
The creation of the four traffic zones will assist in:
- Easing congestion on the routes leading to stadium lots.
- Making the entering and exiting process and ingress/egress route more predictable and efficient.
- Simplifying the parking maps, permits and traffic/parking process for fans and the traffic and parking staffs.
- The elimination of vehicular traffic at the pedestrian-heavy intersection of Park Avenue and Porter/Fox Hollow Roads.
- Creating a more predictable volume of ingress traffic for more efficient placement of traffic and parking staffing.
Penn State will only offer three general parking cash lots on game day. The three general cash lots will only be offered while space remains and will be located in the North, West and East traffic zones. A map is available for more detailed information.
ADA parking will be unaffected.
Fans who purchased Yellow season parking for the 2018 season will need to renew their parking permits and then select a specific general lot for the entire 2019 season. The selection process for all general parking lots will take place after Feb. 1, 2019. More information on the allocation process will be communicated at a later date.
Please visit this webpage for the 2019 parking map, with the new traffic zones, a chart listing the 2018 lots and corresponding 2019 lot names/numbers, and an FAQ about the traffic and parking changes. Fans with questions related to 2019 football tickets, traffic and parking should call 1-800-NITTANY, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 2019 traffic and parking plan was shared at a recent Penn State Athletics’ Fan Council meeting, with positive feedback and suggestions from Fan Council members.
