UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State’s first visit to Iowa since 2012 will kick at 7:30 p.m. and air on ABC. The Nittany Lions and Hawkeyes square off in Kinnick Stadium for the for the 14th time on Sept. 23.
Penn State is 14-12 all-time against Iowa, including an 8-5 record in Iowa City. Last season, the Nittany Lions defeated the Hawkeyes, 41-14, in front of a raucous crowd of 106,194 in Beaver Stadium. Penn State totaled 599 yards of offense, led by Saquon Barkley’s 211 all-purpose yards (167 rushing, 44 receiving). Quarterbacks Tommy Stevens (70) and Trace McSorley (40) had 110 rushing yards to go along with McSorley’s 240 passing yards. The Penn State defense was stellar, holding the Hawkeyes to just 30 rushing yards, the fewest given up by PSU to a Big Ten team since 2012. Jason Cabinda paced the defensive effort with nine tackles.
