The Penn State Lehigh Valley Athletics Department is pleased to announce the new men's basketball Head Coach, Mike DeCarolis. DeCarolis comes to Penn State Lehigh Valley with 13 years of coaching experience at various levels.
DeCarolis spent the last nine seasons at Pennridge High School as the junior varsity head coach and as the varsity assistant head coach in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. As the junior varsity head coach, he led his team to more than 100 wins and had four seasons of 15 wins or more. He also helped the varsity program have the best three seasons in the school’s history. These records include most wins in a season (25), three conference titles, three appearances in the district playoffs, an appearance in the state playoffs, first state playoff game won in the school’s history, two 1,000 point scorers and two league MVP's.DeCarolis started his high school coaching career at his alma mater, Hatboro-Horsham High School. He spent two seasons as junior varsity head coach and the varsity assistant coach. In his first year, he helped guide his team to district playoffs.For the past 13 years, DeCarolis and his father have coached the U12, U13 and U17 AAU boys travel team programs for Pennridge, HHOOPS in Horsham and Pennridge MoJo AAU.
DeCarolis has a bachelor of science in sport and recreation management from Temple University and currently works at UPS in management. DeCarolis resides in Horsham, Pennsylvania.
