CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — Penn State Lehigh Valley's women's basketball team finished a historic year with a record of 21-4, the best in campus history.

Andrea Watkins was named National and PSUAC Player of the Year, USCAA 1st Team All-American, and PSUAC 1st Team All-Conference, and she scored her 1,000th career point.

Ashley Gordon was the first player in Penn State Lehigh Valley history to score 1,000 career points, and was named USCAA 2nd Team All-American and PSUAC 1st Team All-Conference. Ebony Sanders was named USCAA 2nd Team All-American and PSUAC 2nd Team All-Conference. Both Gordon and Sanders were named to the USCAA All-Tournament team.

Hannah Bankes was named to the USCAA National All-Academic Team and PSUAC 2nd Team All-Conference. Coach Lorie Khalil was named PSUAC Coach of the Year.

The team will graduate only one senior, Ashley Gordon, and will look to make a championship run in the 2017-2018 season.

"What a year," said Khalil. "I know the team was disappointed we didn’t win the national championship, but we made it to the very last day that we could play and then came up short. What they accomplished as a team and the honors that players received this season is a testament to their commitment and dedication to this program.

"We look forward to building upon this success and to compete with the local colleges in the Lehigh Valley and to prove to everyone that Penn State Lehigh Valley women's basketball is alive and strong."
