UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State and Maryland men’s and women’s basketball programs are partnering in the first Toys for Tots Challenge. The programs will see which school’s fan base can donate the most new and unwrapped toys at their respective Toys for Tots games.
Penn State fans are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys at either the Nittany Lion Toys for Tots game at noon on Dec. 5 versus Eastern Michigan or Lady Lion Toys for Tots game at 7 p.m. on Dec. 8 against Youngstown State. The final tally of new, unwrapped toys will be announced following each school’s the games. Toys must be dropped off at either of the respective Toys for Tots games to count towards the total.
Fans who bring a new unwrapped toy to either game can receive admission for just $5.
Penn State basketball has partnered with Centre County Toys for Tots for over 20 years. Head coaches Patrick Chambers and Coquese Washington were the co-chairs of the Toys for Tots campaign in 2012.
