UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State's first meeting with San Diego State on Saturday, Sept. 26, will kick at 3:30 p.m. and be televised on the Big Ten Network. The game is the third of five consecutive games at Beaver Stadium and will also feature the second annual Unrivaled Band Jam.
The Unrivaled Band Jam features performances by high school bands and the Penn State Blue Band. Band Jam will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. There is no admission fee.
The Aztecs are 1-1 on the season with a win over San Diego in the season opener and a loss to California last week. SDSU's defense has provided pop for the Aztecs with six interceptions in the first two games, including two returned for touchdowns by Calvin Munson. San Diego State's trip is the second-long trip for an FBS team in the the country (no including trips to/by Hawaii).
Penn State picked up a 27-14 win over Buffalo in the home opener on Sunday, led by a 115-yard rushing performance by freshman Saquon Barkley. Senior Carl Nassib was a dominating force for the defense against the Bulls, collected 3.0 sack, two forced fumbles and one interception to go along with five total tackles.
