ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend track and field athlete Haley Yenchik set a school record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.61 meters at the Slippery Rock University Open. Yenchik, a junior from Cecil, also cleared a height of 3.36 meters at the Behrend Invitational, winning the event.
The college’s baseball, softball, tennis and golf teams also were in action last week. Here are the highlights:

Carson Hauser, a junior from Westfield, New York, hit .538 over four games last week, including a triple in the opener against Mt. Aloysius — her 100th career hit.
Men’s track and field
Grant Rodgers, a sophomore from Oil City, set a school record in the 400-meter race at the Behrend Invitational with a winning time of 48.62. Braeden Smith, a freshman from Erie, won the high jump with a height of 2 meters. Jack Georgetson, a freshman from Aliquippa, won the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.31 meters.
Women’s track and field
Rachel Pell, a senior from Elizabeth, won the 400-meter hurdles at the Slippery Rock University Open, finishing in 1:10.00. Riley Crissman, a sophomore from Bradford, won the 5,000-meter run at the Behrend Invitational, finishing in 18:35.07.
Men’s tennis

The Lions finished second at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference championship, ending their season with a 13-8 (4-1 in conference) record.
Men’s golf
Sixth (of eight teams) at the Mercyhurst Invitational
Sixth (of 10 teams) at the Gannon Spring Invitational
Alex Shindledecker, a senior from Erie, shot a team-low 75 at the Gannon invitational. Sean Sculley, a senior from Waterford, shot a 156 at the two-day Mercyhurst invitational; he tied for ninth overall.
