MONACA, Pa. — Penn State Beaver’s Fall Faculty Speakers Series continued, Monday, Oct. 27 from noon to 1 p.m., with an interdisciplinary presentation by Dr. John Chapin, professor of communications, and Dr. Mari B. Pierce, assistant professor of administration of justice. The faculty members discussed their research regarding the impact of visitation on jail inmates as well as community perceptions about Megan’s Law, a state police registry of individuals who have either been convicted of, entered a plea of guilty, or have been adjudicated delinquent of certain sexual offenses.
The Fall Faculty Speakers Series kicked off in September with a presentation by Penn State laureate Susan Russell, associate professor of theatre at the University Park campus.
