Astronomy Open House

Ryan Ferko, a 2019 graduate of Penn State Behrend, will discuss astrophotography during the next Open House Night in Astronomy at Penn State Behrend. The March 16 program, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Yahn Planetarium, is free and open to the public.

Ferko earned a degree in astronomy and astrophysics at Behrend, where he was a student worker at the Yahn Planetarium. He works with ChromaCove lighting and is an active astro-photographer, using an 8-inch SCT telescope.

He will discuss how to select targets, preprocess data and finalize telescopic images of the night sky.

Open House Nights in Astronomy are an outreach program of the School of Science at Penn State Behrend. These scientific presentations are intended for ages 8 and up. For additional information, contact the school at 814-898-6105.
