The Penn State Behrend Studio Theatre and the college’s Theatre Club will hold auditions for two fall-semester musicals, “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Trail to Oregon!” beginning Sept. 4.
Auditions will be held in the Studio Theatre on Thursday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Sept. 6, at noon. Students should prepare a one-minute musical theater-style song and should bring an instrumental or karaoke track. Students also should be prepared to cold-read for various parts in each production.
“Little Shop of Horrors” will be staged in the upper space of the Fasenmyer Building on Oct. 30 and 31 and on Nov. 1, 6, 7 and 8. Performances will be directed by Jack McBride and co-directed by Emily Cassano, teaching professor of music, theatre and visual arts.
A production of the Behrend Theatre Club, “The Trail to Oregon!” will be staged Nov. 13, 14, 15 and 16, also in Fasenmyer. Performances will be directed by Hadleigh Jae Bills, with support from assistant director Beauregard Hernandez.
