Behrend

Exhibit of African American inventions

11:00 AM - 4:00 PM / February 16, 2022

The African American Inventors & Inventions Traveling Museum will visit Penn State Behrend on Wednesday, Feb. 16, as part of the college’s Black History Month programming. Items from the museum will be displayed in the Wintergarden of the Reed Union Building from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The museum, founded in 1998 by Alabama native Clifton J. Brown, showcases a variety of products that were created by Black inventors, including the programmable remote control and the blue U.S. Postal Service street box. Each display includes a patent date and a biographical sketch of the inventor.

This exhibit is sponsored by the Office of Educational Equity and Diversity Programs. To learn more about diversity at Penn State Behrend, visit https://behrend.psu.edu/student-life/educational-equity-and-diversity.
