Music at Noon: The Logan Series

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM / April 10, 2024

The 2023-24 season of Music at Noon: The Logan Series will conclude April 10 with a performance by the Capitol Quartet, a saxophone ensemble that formed in 1991. The concert, in Behrend’s McGarvey Commons, is free and open to the public.

The Capitol Quartet performs jazz favorites, traditional French quartet compositions and commissioned works by Stacy Garrop, Evan Hause and Charles Ruggiero, among others. The group has been featured with the Cincinnati Pops, the Indianapolis Symphony and the National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa, Canada.

Music at Noon: The Logan Series was founded by Kay Logan in 1989 and is supported by a $1 million endowment by the Kay Hardesty Logan Foundation. The series was designed to strip away the mystique that often is attached to professional chamber music. The lunchtime concerts, which are presented in McGarvey Commons, in the college’s Reed Union Building, are informal, and a portion of the seating is reserved for students from Erie’s Diehl Elementary School.
