Penn State Behrend Speaker Series
7:30 PM - 8:30 PM / November 07, 2024
The Penn State Behrend Speaker Series will continue Thursday, Nov. 7, with a talk by Vincent Intrieri, the founder and CEO of VDA Capital Management. He is the creator and primary donor of the Intrieri Family Student-Managed Fund, which is currently valued at more than $1.4 million.
The program, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in Burke 180, is free and open to the public.
Intrieri is a 1984 graduate of Penn State Behrend, where he earned a degree in accounting. Before he founded VDA Capital Management, he served as senior managing director of Icahn Capital LP and as senior managing director of Icahn Onshore LP. He also has served as a director of Transocean, Hertz Global Holdings and the Navistar International Corp.
In 2012, with a $100,000 gift from Intrieri and his wife, Joanne, the Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend launched the Intrieri Family Student-Managed Fund. Student managers use money from the fund to make real trades. Any profits are reinvested.
Today, the Intrieri Family fund is valued at more than $1.4 million. Since 2021, when the fund first topped $1 million, student managers have been eligible for scholarships based on their work with the fund.
