Run for Women 5K at Penn State Behrend

8:00 AM - 10:00 AM / August 30, 2026

The Run for Women 5K run/walk returns to Penn State Behrend on Sunday, Aug. 30. The annual event, which is hosted by the Women’s Engagement Council (WEC), is designed to build community among women at all fitness levels — runners, walkers and anyone who is ready to embrace a healthy, active start to the day.

“This event has such great energy,” said Heather Cass, the race director and a WEC board member. “Whether you’re chasing a personal record or are just looking for a fun reason to get outside and move, you’ll fit right in. It’s one of those mornings where you leave feeling genuinely happy that you showed up.”

Competitive runners won’t be left out: There will be awards for the top three male and female finishers and awards for the top three women in each five-year age group.

Although the Run for Women 5K celebrates and caters to women, the event is open to all, regardless of sex, gender, age or ability. To learn more, or to register, visit the Behrend WEC webpage.
