Smith Creative Writers Reading Series

6:00 PM - 7:00 PM / September 26, 2024

The Smith Creative Writers Reading Series at Penn State Behrend continues Thursday, Sept. 26, with a reading by the New Mexico poet Hollie Dugas. The program, which begins at 6 p.m. in the lobby of Metzgar Center, is free and open to the public.

Dugas has been featured in Barrow Street, Reed Magazine, Redivider and the Porter House Review. Her poem “A Woman’s Confession #5,162” won Western Humanities Review’s Mountain West Writer’s Contest in 2017. She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and was a finalist in Atlanta Review’s International Poetry Contest.

The Smith Creative Writers Reading Series is produced by Penn State Behrend’s creative writing program, which leads to a bachelor’s of fine arts degree. The program is the only one of its kind at Penn State.
